Spring retreat to Sydney’s north west

Take the opportunity to unplug and recharge your batteries in preparation for spring, in the peaceful surrounds of 60 acres of bush land in north west Sydney. This three night retreat will give you the time to explore ways of reconnecting to your spirit within.

Nourish your body with vegetarian meals and snacks and plenty of fresh air. Support yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and do as much or as little as you like.

A relaxed schedule will allow for the spontaneous—which is just the way nature intended. We will facilitate our group experience, Kurradji Dreaming to assist with releasing the past and allowing for the new energies of spring to emerge within.

There is the opportunity to book a discounted spiritual alignment with us, or you might choose to book a massage with the retreat centre.

Physical activity will include gentle walks in the properties’ bushland, daily yoga, the opportunity to use the tennis court, gym, pool, spa, and sauna.

We will spend time grounding each day during the retreat, as it’s a really simple way to re-centre ourselves and re-connect.

Most important, is the opportunity to take the space and time for yourself.

We’re being called to live more authentically, and more in alignment with who we really are. How do we do this though?

We will create space for you to connect with the group, where we’ll ponder this and many other topical questions. There’ll be time to hone some tools that Jason and Shelley find useful for managing their energy on a daily basis.

 

What will we be doing?

Yoga classes, meditation, and mantra practice will nourish your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies on a daily basis.

Vegetarian food and walks in the fresh air will give your body what it craves.

Kurradji Dreaming will transport you to the heart of the Creator to commune with your Star Ancestors, and receive countless gifts to feed your soul.

The opportunity to receive a spiritual alignment with Jason and Shelley at a discounted rate will lift the weight of the world from your shoulders.

Time for exploring the grounds, sitting by the pool, enjoying a cuppa with new friends, or simply reading a book provide much-needed ‘be-ing’ time.

Optional massage and private therapeutic yoga practice faciliated by Swami’s can be included at an additional cost.

What to bring – the essentials

You’ll need the following to ensure a comfortable stay:

  • Clothes that are easy to move and stretch in for yoga and bushwalks
  • Clothes for comfort to attend mantra, meditation, meals, and relaxing
  • Warm jacket—preferably waterproof in case of rain
  • Warm clothing layers and pyjamas
  • Gloves and beanie in case you want to join in with stargazing
  • Sun protection ie hat, long sleeves, sunscreen
  • Mozzie repellent
  • Comfortable walking shoes with good support
  • Backpack to carry essentials for easy bushwalks
  • Warm socks or slippers to wear inside
  • Thongs or other slip-on shoes to wear around the retreat centre
  • Swimming costume and towel for sauna and swimming pool
  • Toiletries and medications
  • Torch in case you need to move around the retreat centre at night
  • Drinking water bottle
  • Heat wheat if you feel the cold at night

Venue information

This gorgeous retreat centre is nestled in 60 acres of bushland, and is the legacy of the late Swami Sarasvati, of morning TV yoga fame. Swami’s son Sanjay now runs the centre, but ‘Mum’ is still very much present.

There’s an outdoor pool, gym, spa, sauna, tennis court, and walks to explore.

Vegetarian meals are prepared for onsite. If you have particular dietary requirements please advise us ASAP via the form that’s sent to you at the time of booking and paying your deposit.

Massage can be booked to have during your stay, the options will be given on your booking form.

Personalised therapeutic yoga routines and sessions can also be booked in advance.

With multiple seating areas, there’s plenty of space to chill out.

There are no washing facilities onsite, so please pack enough clothing for the retreat.

Google Maps sometimes takes people to the rear of the property down a side street. There is no access from this side. Please stay on Pitt Town Road to enter the driveway at the colourful flags. The driveway is winding in parts so please drive slowly and enjoy the magnificent gum trees on the journey down!

Public transport

The best thing to do is use Transport NSW trip planner https://transportnsw.info/trip#/trip
and input your location, day of arrival/time for the best option.

Depending on where you are coming from, you can catch the bus however this will usually involve a few changes and timetable alignments. The closest train station is Rouse Hill Station – and you can get a taxi/Uber from there (Uber is usually the cheapest; make sure the driver drives via Annangrove Road and Blue Gum Road – the shortest route).

By plane

There is a convenient local shuttle bus company, which will pick you up from the airport and take you to the front door: Hillz Shuttlz on 1300 650 336.

Pricing

Your $249 deposit is due at the time of booking. An invoice will be issued for the remaining cost, which can be paid in full, or via monthly installments. The balance of your retreat package is due by 12 July 2021.

REFUND POLICY

Deposits are non-refundable. Refunds on the remainder of your retreat package is available up to 28 days before the event. After this time, refunds will only be possible if we can replace your spot.

Shelley McConaghy

Shelley has been on her own spiritual journey since she was a teenager. As a very sensitive child, she picked up on what the people around her were feeling. This manifested in daily stomach aches and headaches from the age of seven. It was a relief later on to discover that she was literally taking on others pain as an ’empath’. Learning techniques to help manage this has proven invaluable in her work as a natural therapist.

As the founder of Divine Balance® Shelley is passionate about helping people on their spiritual journey. Her clients have described what she provides during healings as being bathed in the energy of the Divine Mother. Shelley certainly doesn’t have all the answers, but she is very willing to share what has worked for her, and what techniques her clients have found useful.

Jason Engelbrecht

As an Indigenous man of mixed genealogy, Jason brings a wealth of experience to his role as a Kurradji (Aboriginal medicine man). Jason’s abilities have been awoken through various spiritual initiations that began when he was a child. He works with a variety of different crystals to conduit the energy to his client, with the help of medicine people in the ancestral realms. Sound medicine always features as part of his healings, and smoke is used to cleanse and purify the energy field.

Jason’s clients experience pain relief and the freedom from spiritual ‘heaviness’ that can weigh us down. The lifting of the energetic dross from stored trauma in the body is something that Jason specialises in, as it’s something that he is passionate about helping his people heal.

Duty of care

Ultimately you are in charge of what’s right for you, and what’s not. This is a gentle retreat, and it is expected that each participant will take responsibility for ensuring that their own needs are being met.

Having said that, your health and wellbeing during the retreat is important to us. Your retreat team has current certifications in first aid, mental health first aid, as well as current police checks and working with children checks.

Please advise when you book, whether you have any particular dietary and/or medical requirements so that we can ensure your needs are taken into consideration when planning menus and activities.

There is likely to be incense smoke, sage smoke, and the burning of leaves. Please ensure to bring any necessary medications should your breathing be affected by being exposed to smoke, and feel free to move away from the smoke should you feel it necessary.

By booking to attend this retreat you agree to follow the safety guidelines set in place by your retreat team, and to alert them immediately should you have any concerns for your physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual wellbeing.

Please note that this is a meat-free, and drug- and alcohol-free event.
